The Comox Valley Cycling Coalition is hosting a special evening at the Filberg Centre (Evergreen Room) on November 9th from 7-9pm. Come and enjoy some interesting local cycling stories and explore best cycling routes to your favourite Comox Valley destinations.
Speakers include:
Laurel Cronk – After 4 years of showcasing our area from the seat of a bicycle, Island Joy Rides: Boutique Cycling Tours will share their story and promote discussion around growing and enriching the cycling profile of the Comox Valley.
Angela Holmes – Active Travel Program Coordinator for School District #71, will share her experience cycling with her son Jack, and tell their story about overcoming obstacles and enjoying the benefits they both gain by this family activity.
Andrew Gower – Engineer and local commuter cyclist will share his experiences and professional perspective on choosing routes in the Comox Valley to ride as an adult and with his young son.
The Comox Valley Cycling Coalition Board – will be sharing a sneak preview of Phase 1 of the Comox Valley Digital Cycling Map created in partnership with the Comox Valley Cycling Task Force. Attendees will be given a tour of how this digital map can be used for route planning and cycling advocacy. At the close of the event we will welcome any input that will help make this map even better before we are up and running with our online version.
