Tire Stewardship BC in partnership with the Bicycle Trade Association of Canada and the local biking community are proud to announce the launch of a new bike tire and tube recycling program on June 1, 2011. This is a voluntary program and TSBC is delighted at the interest and support shown by the bike retailers in the province to participate.
Prior to the program, most tires and tues went directly to the landfill; some were re-purposed into small textile and miscellaneous applications.
Tire Stewardship BC is a Not For Profit Society responsible for ensuring all of BC’s regulated scrap tires are collected and recycled. They are offering its current scrap tire collection infrastructure and paying all costs associated with transportation and recycling of the tubes and tires.
You can take your used tires and tubes to Simon’s Cycle in Comox.
