Just a reminder of our monthly meeting on FRIDAY April 17th, 7:00 PM in the Comox Rec Centre. (This meeting is usually held every third Thursday, but had to be moved to Friday as there was no room available on Thursday.)
There has been a fair amount of development and action over the last month and all the committees (Road Standards and Maintenance, Planning, Surveys, Mapping and Education) will be starting to work seriously on different projects and programs. Please show up at the meeting with your input and if you not already have, join one of the committees.
The more people we have, the more we can spread the workload.
We also need several volunteers to help out with our booth at The Earth Day Family Festival – Saturday April 25th at Simms Park in Courtenay. Tomiko Collins has offered to do most of organising, but needs help with staffing the booth. The event runs from 10am to 4pm – If you have a couple of hours to help with promoting our Cycling Coalition at the Earth Day celebration, please email Tomiko at: [email protected].
This is a worthwhile event and we should have a good showing at it.
Some volunteers will also be needed for Bike to Work Week – May 11th to 17th to help with the set up and staffing of Celebration Stations around the valley every morning throughout the week. We will send out more detail on times and activities. Mark the dates on your calendar and let us know if you can help. Registration is now open at: http://www.biketowork.ca/comox_valley
Of course, all our members should participate in Bike to Work week by using their bikes for transportation as much as possible!
